Akari Oborodzuka (朧塚 朱莉), regarded as Lady Fox and Kitsune, is a character from The Onibi series.
She is the sister of Kanishiro oborodzuka, belonging to the Oborodzuka Clan. She is later kidnapped and killed right before cursing Ryou Shishikusa's bloodline and returning to life.
Appearance[]
In her canon design, she has long white hair with blunt bangs and blue eyes. When portrayed by Hatsune Miku, she has her hair in twintails instead, tied with either bells or hair ties. When angered, Akari's hair turns into a bright, red color, and her eyes reflect this change, becoming a flaming red. Under this physical change, she then gains the power to make others harm themselves.
She commonly wears a wine colored kimono with black sashes and grey obi alongside a golden Fox mask, but she has been seen wearing kimonos with other colors.
In the song Onigumo to Kitsune no Shishi to, she wears a light blue kimono, with white sashes and a pink obi, which is later cut.
In the song Kimikage Enbukyou -Kitsune no Yomeiri-, she is seen wearing a grey kimono with blue sashes and yellow obi.
In the song Kubinashi Enbukyou, she's seen drawn as an uncolored/transparent sketch with white rough outlines.
In the song Himeyuri Enbukyou, she is seen wearing a light purple kimono with light pink sashes and a long dark red hakama skirt.
In the song Akkiyagyou, her skin color is pale blue, and her fox mask has cracks on it. She wears a plain white kimono with white sashes and a white tsunokakushi. Her hairstyle seen in said song might be her canon hairstyle.
Personality[]
She is described as serious, and her face reflects that. Not much else is said apart from that, but it can be said that cunning, manipulating Shikyou to obtain information.
Additionally, she can be considered reckless and quick-tempered, as evidenced by her powers and how she manages them. She is extremely fearless; even in situations where she faces death, instead of being frightened, she immediately becomes angry and uses her powers to harm and kill people.
She appears to be a highly emotional character. Due to her past experiences of being abused by her clan, she is a deeply resentful person, particularly towards her powers and white hair - the very reasons for her abuse in the first place. She expresses remorse for her actions, as shown when she refers to herself as a monster. It is possible that she is very insecure due to the abuse she has received.
Background[]
Early Life[]
Akari was born into the Oborodzuka Clan, or the "Kitsune Clan," and unlike the majority of the members, she is not physically disabled, instead, being born with strange white hair.
Some people in her clan hated her as a result of her unusual hair, as when she was little, after they deceived her mother by telling her that they were giving her daughter a gifted education, they would lock her in a room and abuse her under the pretense of teaching her.
Until one day, seemingly in a bad mood, they began kicking her and beating. Akari then began bawling, unable to take it anymore. And that seemed to aggravate them, as one of them slapped her harshly.
At that moment, something snapped inside Akari, and her fear turned into murderous intent , the face of the one who slapped her contorted, and he began to suffer violently.
When the man died, the others who were beating Akari began screaming hysterically, while banging on the door of the room that they locked themselves in.
One of the men called her a "monster", and with that, her murderous intent returned and the man who had screamed at her suffered until he died. Another one begged for his life, but Akari did not spare him.
Akari didn't know what was going on, and having heard the screams, other adults came running and unlocked the door. They were stunned when they saw Akari, staring at her red hair and eyes.
After that, Akari began learning many things from her mother, she told her that her red eyes and white hair is proof of the calamity that marked the beginning of her clan, bestowed with a divine power and that the only other person to have ever been born with this power, is the founder of this clan.
Realizing that she was a reincarnation of the founder, who had done many monstrous acts, Akari began calling herself a monster.

How Akari feels about Mai and whether she returns her feelings for her is unknown.
Kanishiro Oborodzuka[]
One of Akari's many brothers. Not much is known about their relationship, as they haven't been seen interacting as much, but he might've decided to get involved in Mai's kidnapping out of revenge against Akari's captors.
Akari's Mother[]
Akari is shown to love her mother deeply, with the latter feeling the same, but she is upset by the state of their clan and blood.
Akari, at one point, suspects her mother made a pact with demonic spirits, which resulted in her horrible powers. Her mother becomes mad at her when asking her about this, but she affirms that Akari was not the result of any deal with demons.
Tsukuyomi Oborodzuka[]
Akari sometimes meets Tsukuyomi, her clan's founder, in the Black Sun Palace. She hates her for disregarding the lives of those she massacred. However, Akari knows better than to fight her about it, and in return, Tsukuyomi responds to Akari's anger towards her by threatening her and displaying her godlike powers.
Shikyou[]
Akari is shown to be skeptical of Shikyou, especially when they first meet. She also lies and plays dumb to Shikyou to get more information out of her about Tsukuyomi.
It's still unknown if Shikyou is truly manipulating Akari, as Tsukuyomi says, but Shikyou tells Akari that she wants to make a deal with her and that she is the one who brought her back to life. Shikyou can be seen taking over Akari's consciousness.
Emi[]
It can be drawn from the ADULT remix of Kitsune no Yomeiri PV that Akari really does not like Emi that much, as Emi was seen gouging out her own eye and stabbing holes into her own face with her fingernails, indicating Akari's power at work. At the same time, Akari's hair and eyes are red, and her expression appears furious.

Conceptualization and Origin[]
- Akari's name has many writings in kanji, but going with Masa's writing, Aka (朱) means "vermillion, scarlet, red," etc., while Ri (莉) means "jasmine."
- Her surname, Oborodzuka, is made up of two words: Oboro (朧), meaning "haziness," "obscuring," or "gloom," and Dzuka (塚), meaning "mound," "hill," or "drift."
- In her canon design, she shares the same hairstyle and hair color with Phyrexia, however, Phyrexia was created before Akari's canon design was revealed, so that's likely a coincidence.
Curiosities[]
- Akari is the only character who appears in almost all of the PVs for the Onibi series songs. Onibi is the only exception to this rule.
