Chimera, or The Dancer, as referred to by Masa, is a minor character from Maha's Story.
She was a prostitute and an exotic dancer who lived in the city of Encantada and was later abused and killed for the sake of a ritual conducted by Echidna.
Appearance[]
Chimera has two designs that are basically identical but with a few minor differences.
She has long, bright blue hair in twintails tied with golden ribbons and a simple golden hairclip on her right bang. Her outfit consists of a top similar to Echidna's but is colored a darkish teal green; long gloves that are also the same color with gold trim, matching panties alongside a transparent blue loincloth with a golden waistband and strips of blue dangling from it, and red shoes. Additionally, Chimera's eyes are blue, and a thick golden choker rests on her neck.
When she is sacrificed, she wears a grey gown that covers her entire body, and her eyes are covered with a dark grey blindfold, while her mouth is gagged with a ball gag.
In the remake version, her clothes become more blue, the hairclip is gone, the golden ribbons are replaced with pink ones, and she is still somewhat alive during her sacrifice and retains her original outfit.
Background[]
Early Life[]
Chimera is an exotic dancer and prostitute in the city of Encantada. Her light-skinned appearance is in stark contrast to the dark skin tones of the locals of Encantada. This is alluded to in the line: "People express their lust for uncommon albinos." This coincided with the violence she is shown to receive from Maha cultists, insinuating human trafficking.
Encantada[]
In the Encantada PV, she is drugged, abused, raped, and sacrificed by Echidna, who is not another victim of trafficking despite her similar outfit. Rather, she is actually an important member of the Maha Cult.
Trivia[]
- "Chimera" is a fan-made name that was given to her due to its similarity with the name "Echidna." Her real name has yet to be revealed and probably never will be, as her role in the story is unimportant.
- Chimera might have been devoured by Morian and Echidna after her death.
- Chimera was most likely forced into prostitution thanks to drugs, as you can see injection signs on her in some parts of the Encantada PV.
- Her seemingly cheerful and provocative personality may be one example of the "brainwashing" mentioned in the song's description. Or she may be forced to behave this way.
