Origins[]
Diseased Princess is a VOCALOID song released by Masa on August 12th, 2014, sung by Hatsune Miku, before being re-uploaded as a self-cover on August 4th, 2015, to be sung by Sachiko, and on December 1st, 2017, on his 2nd album, ALCATRAZ, the song is remixed with GUMI being the singer.
Plot[]
The song tells the tale of a girl who is obsessed with making herself look beautiful, with the lyrics talking about her making all of the other girls and women jealous and making boys and men yearn for her beauty, mocking them by how easily they fall for her; an example of this is offering her gifts such as roses.
It is clear that the girl loves the attention she gets very much, seeing as how she doesn't bother settling into a relationship, possibly thinking that she will lose the attention or that she is too good for anyone.
Time passes, and as she gets older, old age starts to take effect on her, making "ugly" features befall her, such as wrinkles and white hair, making her afraid of losing her beauty and all the attention she receives.
The girl decides to, one day, become "beautiful" again. Falling into madness and insanity, she starts cutting her face, tearing her hair, and inflicting serious injuries on herself.
She then walks through the village, showing her newfound "beauty," but, in the end, the injuries take a toll on her, and she dies alone and unmarried.
It is heavily implied that the girl was influenced by her village, as they always say that her heart is "corrupted" and that her feminine pride is messed up, making her think that to get rid of her corruption, she should always gather and seek attention for her beauty.
This is further allured in the lyrics, as when the girl receives attention from men, she says: "It's fine, right? It's fine, right? Just this time..."
