"Hello, this is ell.
It's The! Miku Day! lol
This is my second work.
I intended this to be a song that would be exciting at concerts.
It even includes a little hand-made PV of mine."
Interface is a lost VOCALOID song made by Masa when he was under the name ell. It was released on March 9th, 2011, in celebration of Miku Day.
It remains lost apart from a ten-second clip and the video thumbnail. Many lost media enthusiasts are looking to find it. Masa insisted that he does not remember making Interface at all.
Background[]
Origins[]
Interface is a lost VOCALOID song made by Masa on the occasion of Miku Day, which is on March 9th, 2011. The song had 489 views on NND before presumably being deleted in the first half of April 2011. It is 3:56 seconds long, and the ten-second clip appears at 3:20-3:30.
Supposedly: the song begins with the same "Gaaaaah" as in the ten-second clip, followed by the song title and ell's intro in the PV, which was very loud. The song also included a solo with Miku frantically speaking. The melody was allegedly similar to the original version of Kitsune no Yomeiri.
Masa claims to not remember making the song and that the files are lost as a result of him moving his song files to a new computer. According to some, a re-upload was up in 2015, but it was deleted between 2015 and 2018 for unknown reasons.
Plot[]
Some people theorize that the Rin and Miku here are students, with the latter being the popular one. This lead Rin to envy her classmate before eventually killing her out of jealousy. However, others have also theorized that the VOCALOIDs are partners in crime who kill together.
What was mentioned above are just theories and are not confirmed, but it is clear that the song showcases Rin wanting to murder someone brutally.
Futile Attempts[]
Even though the Wayback Machine is one of the most common ways to find lost media, when inserting the link of the original PV, a Niconico Douga "Log in" screen will be shown. Some people believe that to find the song, they must find a way to log in with an old NND account; however, actually logging in will lead to a "This video is private" screen.
False Information[]
A person claimed that their cousin somehow listened to the song when it first came out and described that stabbing and muttering noises were heard, with an illustration of a knife in Miku's chest shown at the end of the song. This has been debunked.
Another claimed to have searched up Interface on Facebook and somehow found a clip on a Spanish page with screams and distorted audio; this is most likely not true.
Where to Look[]
Looking on YouTube is going to lead to a dead end with trolling and remake videos present when searching about the song there, so the best course of action would be searching on Japanese or Chinese websites such as 2chan, Baidu, and youku; messing around with the link would also help as that was how the second version of Suishou no Utahime was found.
Others have suggested using Google Cache with the dead link to recover the video. Even though its not likely that we will find interface after it was deleted by the creator.
Lyrics[]
JAPANESE | ROMAJI | ENGLISH |
があああああ | gaaaaaa | Gaaaaah! |
楽しい | tanoshii | So much fun, |
楽しい | tanoshii | so much fun! |
遊びの時間だ | asobi no jikan da | It's time to play! |
怨念でグチャグチャにしてやるんだ | on'nen de guchagucha ni shite yaru nda | With a deep-seated grudge, I'll make things a mess. |
The Interface upload's thumbnail contains several kanji and kana, which, when pieced together, produce "I'll slaughter you now" (お前を今惨殺, omae o ima zansatsu) twice. It may be part of the lyrics since Rin is highlighted, indicating she is singing.
Trivia[]
- The mylist count upon being deleted was 10, and not 8, although it could have been 20 due to people removing the song from their list mylist when the video was deleted.
- The song is considered to be the most infamous Vocalost song.
- After a while, fans have attempted to create remakes of the song, with the same being done with Medical Wedding, another lost Masa song.
